Why and how was the Pro-Fondi EVO electric device born? What was the initial idea?

The Pro-Fondi EVO electric coffee grounds disposal unit comes from a common feeling of those who have always worked behind the counter of a bar or of a pastry shop and it is proposed as a solution to the problems encountered in public establishments throughout Italy: the knockbox unit for coffee machines, among other things they can often be broken, dirty, noisy and have sometimes also caused inflammation in the joints of the catering staff.

Marco Ambrosini, founder of Ambrodesign in 1977 and creator of Pro-Fondi EVO, initially designed and manufactured furnishings for public places such as bars, pizzerias and restaurants. Whenever some inconveniences were reported to him, he thought about what it would be useful to adopt to solve them.

This is how, in 2007, the Pro-Fondi EVO electric knockbox unit, for cleaning coffee, took shape and finally faced the field test. Shortly after, in 2008, Ambrodesign's exclusive and patented electric device triggered a positive word of mouth among the owners of bars and restaurants.

Where were the first sales of Pro-Fondi EVO, the automatic coffee grounds disposal unit? And how did you manage to enter the foreign market?

Pro-Fondi EVO was initially sold to customers in the area, located mainly in Verona and in the Province.
In 2009 we took part in our first HOST Fair in Milan, dedicated to the entire catering and hospitality sector. From that moment it began to take hold abroad and the first sales were in America and Canada ( See the complete list  ).

What will be the future evolutions of the countertop knockbox?

We are continuing to improve Pro-Fondi EVO to make the product more and more complete and performing over time so that it can handle a greater number of uses.
Our goal is to make Pro-Fondi EVO an eco-sustainable product, building all its plastic parts in eco-sustainable green material. It will be a process that will still take some time, but for now we are replacing the frame in material made of regenerated plastic. A step at a time!

However, a second evolution of the product will soon arrive: we are in fact trying to patent a piece of the Pro-Fondi EVO device that will further optimize the cleaning process of the filter holder.

Which countries did the most recent exports of the disposal unit go to go to?

Coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world and the culture of espresso is now known and appreciated everywhere.
The next Pro-Fondi EVO expedition is leaving for Japan to reach an important internationally renowned franchise. An opportunity that will be a great springboard to reach other new countries.
