DVG De Vecchi s.r.l is a consolidated partner of Pro-Fondi, the exclusive and patented electric Knockbox by Ambrodesign. DVG De Vecchi s.r.l. is a company from Lombardy that produces and distributes solutions and components for professional espresso coffee machines worldwide.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Giovanna De Vecchi, administrator and business partner of DVG DE VECCHI SRL, about Pro-Fondi, the electric coffee knockbox.
How do innovation and research work within your company? Do you have an R&D department?
Dvg De Vecchi srl is specialized in the design, production, distribution and sale of solutions and components for coffee machines.
We realize many custom products according to the needs of our customers in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector. Moreover, we deal with the entire process of design, prototyping, manufacturing and marketing of components, assemblies and accessories for the professional coffee market.
Research and innovation activities are fundamental for us because they help us to create products that are more and more functional and in line with market’s needs. Our R&D department’s goal is to constantly improving the quality of the coffee in the cup. For this purpose, DVG has a R&D team, Technical Office, Graphic and Design Office, Quality Assurance that constantly collaborate with customers and suppliers.
The attention to the market and its developments are basic elements of constant analysis that lead us to identify, realize and propose innovative solutions.
What features must your product have? Do you own any patent?
Our products are characterized by constant attention to quality. We are attentive to market changes in terms of materials and treatments while maintaining the characteristics and quality of Made in Italy. In the past two years we have patented our leading article: the Tech-Up®, an analysis instrument to control, with extreme precision, the parameters of temperature and pressure of water delivery, coming out from the group of the professional coffee machine.
The international patent is the result of an important investment, developed with the involvement of relevant companies in the sector.
This tool is useful to deliver a quality espresso made in a workmanlike manner - as Giovanna defines it - "From the moment you can read these parameters correctly, you can work on the final result of the coffee".
We have read that people are the most important resource you have in the company: how many collaborators are part of the company? Can you tell us about your DVG PEOPLE project?
DVG is composed of 45 collaborators and with the DVG PEOPLE project we wanted to present them one by one with a shot, a product chosen by them and a text written by each one. "The added value of DVG, the most important asset, is represented by the people who make up the company.
In order to promote the professionalism, motivation and enthusiasm of our team we also organize training courses, because we believe that sharing the common goal is the most important thing for the success of our Company and it is fundamental to always work at our best.
In DVG, professionalism is integrated with humanity and the ability to work as a team, and to improve the organization and communication within the company we have recently started an extensive internal digitalization process.
Did you participate in the Host Milan fair this year?
Yes, it was a very important opportunity to meet customers, suppliers, make new contacts and generate courage and enthusiasm. We were present at this fair with our team to give the message of "being there" to all our stakeholders.
What type of added value did Pro-Fondi, the electric knokbox, bring?
We market Pro-Fondi and Pro-Fondi EVO, the automatic coffee knokbox that has brought a radical improvement in the world of coffee. The result is excellent, thanks to the manuality of the product, the speed and the increasing attention to hygiene and cleaning of the filter holder.
Giovanna De Vecchi is grateful to have been born and raised in such a beautiful sector as Ho.Re.Ca. and espresso, which in the future will still have new possibilities of development.
"Coffee is the most evocative beverage," she says, concluding with what she believes are the increasingly important elements in this sector: "We are moving towards greater quality of the product and the coffee supply chain, but it is essential that in parallel with the quality of the coffee product, a constant sensitivity towards the quality not only of the equipment but also of the operators who, properly trained, can be important ambassadors towards the final customer of everyone's work."
