Pro-Fondi EVO for the horeca sector: the electric beater that sets standards

"I started in 1993 as a barista in Lazio, in Cassino, my home town. In 2004 I moved to Veneto, to Treviso, and Caffè Indimenticabile was the specialised café where, from 2010, I started using the Pro-Fondi beater,' Fabio D'Aguanno introduces himself. "I also started a journey with Torrefazione Pura Vida Café," Fabio continues. "At the same time, at Indimenticabile I was doing consultancy and training courses for bartenders and managers, courses that I still do today within the Torrefazione," he then explains.

"That's when it was easy to make Pro-Fondi known and appreciated: the customer, both independently and through the supply of Pura Vida Café's products". Thus began Fabio's resale of Ambrodesign's exclusive and patented electrical device, "a company of people with whom I shared the value of excellent and elegant service: a successful café is recognised by high-performance products and equipment, a reflection of certain working principles," Fabio concludes.

Who are the customers of Pura Vida Café? Where and in which type of business do you find the greatest demand for the Pro-Fondi EVO countertop beater?

Our work as a roasting company covers the entire horeca sector nationwide.

Bars are the premises with the greatest need for the coffee grounds cleaner, given the high number of cups to be produced compared to other types of service. At least forty of our customer bars have purchased Ambrodesign's exclusive and patented electric device. 

When you started your business as a retailer, did you already offer Pro-Fondi to your customers?

I have known Pro-Fondi and its reliability since I worked in Treviso. My direct experience with Ambrodesign's products, first as a barkeeper and then as a consultant trainer, allowed me to offer Pro-Fondi EVO electric coffee grounds emptyers right from the start. The roles I hold allow me to set up a bar and recommend the most suitable bar equipment and spare parts for the bar and the needs of the customers. 

Why did you choose to start enhancing the image of Pro-Fondi?

Also, thanks to my experience as a barkeeper, I experienced the unequivocal advantages that Pro-Fondi provides: absolute silence during the beating, safe cleaning thanks to the coffee machine's grounds bag, elegance in service. As a barkeeper and as a retailer as a roastery I want a customer to get into the atmosphere of the bar, to smell the aromas, to admire the ease of the staff's gestures in preparing the coffee. I do not want the consumer to feel the confusion of the room fuelled perhaps by a manual grounds’ beater.

With what features do you present Pro-Fondi to your possible customers?

The advantages of using Pro-Fondi are numerous: less tiredness at the end of the shift, a more effective method of coffee preparation, efficiency and optimisation of the entire work. In addition, the electric beater avoids the need to manually bang the filter holder on the bar, reducing wrist pain and preventing dents in the filters that would have to be replaced in the long run. This cuts down on unnecessary maintenance costs for the machine, whether owned or on loan".

If any customers have ever complained about Pro-Fondi, have you managed to keep them loyal by relying on their service or any of their other features?

The customer always has me as a reference, so in the case of technical problems, I intervene as a Pro-Fondi dealer and personally change the spring, the impeller or the damaged part. Since Ambrodesign changed the impeller, however, there have been even fewer problems.

What are the best features Pro-Fondi can offer its customers? After it delivers the electric coffee grounds emptier to the customer, does it maintain a constant relationship with them for service? What feedback have you received?

I usually have a weekly relationship with customers who use Pro-Fondi, whether it be site visits or phone calls. One of the best features of the electric heatsink is that it offers virtually immediate troubleshooting, also thanks to the sale of individual parts.

In the post-covid period, was it more difficult to sell Pro-Fondi?

In the post-covid period I did not notice any difference in the sale of the Pro-Fondi EVO heatsink, the model currently on sale. This is because the moment a customer relies on us, he or she receives a 'complete package': product presentation, advice on furnishing or coffee type, constant support and training courses for barkeeper and barkeeper who wish to expand or refine their skills and knowledge.

Your sector is full of prompts, novelties and technology: what do horeca workers look for?

One of the problems that characterises the horeca sector is unfortunately the unpreparedness of bartenders or restaurateurs, who have little knowledge of the quality of products that are unfortunately chosen somewhat casually, looking more for appearance than effectiveness. A product like Pro-Fondi, once presented, makes even the most sceptical customer rethink the effectiveness and convenience of more technological tools. What's more, the Pro-Fondi EVO beater is a small and discreet instrument that fits well next to the machine in the office or bar. Elegance, hygiene and cleanliness are the three main elements encapsulated in this instrument, whose small size makes it suitable for an aesthetic that remains important for the on-trade in 2022.
